If There Is a God

If There Is a God

As I stand here observing all that is beautiful in nature,

I notice that all these creatures are well behaved and do only what they need to do to survive.

And I think,

“Yeah, God created that!”

I see the beautiful flowers and plants and see the nutrition they gladly give to the melodious birds,

And I think,

“Yeah, God created that!

Then I think of the horribly mixed results of this experiment we call humanity –

haunted by the volatile mix of

unlimited beauty

And capacity for incredible cruelty

And I think,

“If there is a God, then we may be the divine accident.”
